4 Week Grand Tour of Europe
Our 4 week Introduction to the Great Wines of Europe is designed for people who have an interest in wine and want to know more about it. No previous experience is necessary to enjoy the course; the emphasis is on tasting and learning! Each wine tasting will include different information about the wines and regions while tasting at least 6 wines every time! It is also a great way to meet new friends who share your love of wine.
By the end of the 4 evenings:
• You will have an understanding of the main wine producing regions of Europe and the key styles they produce
• over 25 wines will be tasted in 4 weeks

• Taste the world’s major Grape Varieties – Syrah, Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and many others

• common wine faults - how to spot them
• storing & serving wine advice
Professional ISO tasting glasses, tasting sheets and delicious nibbles are all provided at each tasting.
Course Dates (all Tuesdays 7-9pm):
Wk. 1 -11th September - Introduction to Wine Tasting – A general introduction to wine tasting featuring a variety of European Wine styles including Chablis, Beaujolais and Rioja benchmarked against the New World. Learn tasting skills, aromas and understanding wine labels
Wk. 2 – 18th September – Introduction to the Wines of France – including Bordeaux, Rhone, Loire and the South France; plus how wine is made and the importance of geography
Wk. 3 - 25th September – Introduction to the Wines of Italy – including Piedmont, Tuscany and the South; plus how to serve wine - temperature & decanting and food & wine matching
Wk. 4 – 2nd October – Introduction to the Wines of Spain - including Rioja and exciting new regions; plus the importance of oak ageing
WHAT WILL I GET FROM THE COURSE?
By the end of the four evenings you will have gained a good understanding of Europe’s major grape varieties and the wine styles they produce. You will have learnt to taste wine like a professional, and be able to identify a corked wine. You will also have learnt which foods match well with which wines and why. You will also have developed your sense of smell and wine vocabulary.

COURSE FEE STRUCTURE
The total course fee is £95.00. As a way of spreading out the cost, we ask for a £55 payment on booking, and then £10 in cash each evening.
