Craft Beer Tastings
We also arrange & host hugely popular British and Global Beer Tastings. We normally taste a wide selection of properly made beers - from hoppy British real ale to German and Czech Republic lagers, American micro-brewed golden ales to Belgian fruit beers. They are all produced in the old-fashioned way - ie bottle conditioned, live beers made from quality specialist hops, & specialist malts, not to be confused with the anaemic, tasteless, & pasteurised offerings produced by the large commercial breweries - that pass for beer in a lot of our bars and pubs!
A Beer Tasting also makes a Great Gift for anyone who likes good beer!
Good indicators of real beer are the depth of fruity, yet bitter hop flavours present in your pint, its smoky, malt-spiked finish, as well as a gentle snail’s trail of tiny bubbles on the head and a faint spritz on the tongue.
You will also learn how beer is made and how the different types of malt & hops affect that all-important taste. The beers are always accompanied by a few appropriate nibbles!
The craft beer revolution has really taken off and here at Newcastle Wine School we love our beers! From locally crafted ales made by independent breweries to artisan international styles
